Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS)

Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) is an additive manufacturing technology that generates metal prototype and production parts in a short amount of time without the need for tooling.

The technology fuses metal powder into a solid using a focused laser beam. Parts are built one layer at a time using layers around 20 micrometres thick. This process allows for highly complex geometries to be created directly from the 3D CAD data within hours. Since DMLS components are created with high accuracy and excellent mechanical properties using most alloys, prototypes can now be functional production representatives.
